Having long been known as a great destination for some of the worlds best duck hunting, Argentina is becoming so popular that one needs to plan on making a reservation almost a year in advance if they intend to shoot with any operators that are worth their salt…and Los Gauchos is no exception.

We have been duck shooting in Argentina for over ten years now (professionally for seven), and watched the international flights become increasingly more crowded with camouflaged-clad hunters from all over North America and Europe. Outstanding waterfowl hunting:

Even though the secret is out, no one needs to worry that this resource is anywhere near a state of decline.  Argentina is large enough to stuff the state of California into it almost three times, and there are not enough dedicated commercial airliners in service today to fly enough hunters down here to diminish the unbelievable numbers of waterfowl. As long as the country’s politicians continue to welcome visiting duck hunters, Argentina will continue to be on top of the world’s duck hunting stage.

But duck shooting is not the only venue available in Argentina.  Many hunters opt for Argentina mixed bag hunting that also adds doves, pigeons, and Perdiz (Argentina partridge hunting) to the bag.

Los Gauchos shoots ducks in the province of Santa Fe, which is an hour flight north of Buenos Aires in a jet.  Consistent shooting extends throughout the Argentina duck hunting season (March 1st – October 1st in this part of the country) for both divers and puddle ducks alike. So, duck hunting ARG can pay off big for those that wish to squeeze in an extra duck season by making the journey down to the land of the southern cross during the North American summer.

Yes the limits are liberal, and the shooting is often fast and furious, but one of the greatest things about bird hunting in Argentina in general, but specifically duck hunting in Argentina is the opportunity to hunt an abundance of species that do not exist north of the equator. An Argentina duck hunt is a trophy collectors dream. All guests will harvest Rosybilled pochards, Brown pintails, Speckled teal, Chiloe widgeon, and possibly up to seven more species of ducks.
